General Plan Update
Every 20 years, a city is required to update its general plan, THE guiding document of vision of the city. The General Plan will guide future decisions regarding land use, community design, transportation, public services, and resource conservation for the next 20 years. Sebastopol has begun this process and expects to complete the latest version in the next couple of years. The Council selected De Novo Group as consultants to complete this process. The De Novo contract is for approximately $400,000. The whole update cost may run several multiples of that number.
Input from the whole community is sought, with several public meetings to gather input. An advisory committee has been appointed by the Council to work on the project. The City has set up a separate website with lots more info. Visit the General Plan Update Website.
The 'topic' schedule for the City's General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) has been set. If you are interested in a particular topic, plan to attend that meeting. Meetings will be held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, and will begin at 6:30pm. at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts, 282 South High Street, Sebastopol.
